Anyone who engages in business in New Mexico must register with the Taxation and Revenue Department.

“ Engaging in business ” means carrying on or causing to be carried on any natural process with the purpose of direct or indirect benefit. A Business Tax Identification Number is not required for those who must pay withholding tax on vegetable oil or natural gas proceeds payments to nonresidents of New Mexico for wells located in this submit. Corporations
